Agreement signed for swimming track to be established in Nolhivaranfaru

An agreement has been signed for the swimming track to be established by the government in HDh. Nolhivaranfaru. This project is being carried out by assigning it to the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). The agreement was signed on behalf of the government by the Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Abdullah Rafiu. And on behalf of MTCC, the agreement was signed by the company’s Managing Director, Ahmed Saudi. The agreement for the new swimming track to be established in Nolhivaranfaru was signed during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s ongoing trip to Haa Dhaalu Atoll.

While numerous sports-related projects are underway in various parts of the country in line with the President’s pledge, a handball court has already been built in Nolhivaranfaru, and the foundation for a fitness and recreation center has also been laid. Speaking to PSM News about the new swimming track project to be established in Nolhivaranfaru, the island council president Ali Siraj said that such a swimming track is very important as the island is rocky. He also described it as a very important facility for people of all ages on the island.

“Our island is rocky. Women are also very enthusiastic about swimming activities on this island. So the importance of such a swimming track is significant for the island,” said Siraj. In accordance with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s presidential pledge, numerous sports projects are currently underway in the Maldives. While some of these works have been completed, the remaining projects are also progressing at a rapid pace.
