
A warm welcome was extended to the Maldives National Football Team at the Galolhu Stadium to celebrate their success in the South Asian Super Cup. Along with a large number of supporters, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Abdullah Rafiu, welcomed the team at the Galolhu Stadium. Many supporters gathered at the Galolhu Stadium to commemorate the beautiful reputation that the National Team players earned for the Maldives by winning the tournament with their courageous performance in the South Asian Super Cup. In addition to welcoming the team players, photo sessions with the South Asian Super Cup trophy and the players were also conducted.
Upon the return of the National Team with their first victory under the guidance of Mohamed Shiyaz (Mohan), a warm welcome was also extended to the team at Velana International Airport. The National Team was welcomed at Velana International Airport by Commissioner of Sports Mohamed Tholal, Football Association of Maldives (FAM) President Ahmed Thoriq (Tom), State Minister of Sports Ministry Ibrahim Aamir, State Minister Abdurrazzaq Ibrahim, and some members of the FAM Executive Committee.
The National Team has revitalized Maldivian football by winning the South Asian Super Cup with an aggregate score of 4-1 in two matches against Sri Lanka. Furthermore, the National Team has reignited the enthusiasm and national spirit among the supporters.
