The Maldives National Futsal Team, crowned champions of the inaugural SAFF Futsal Championship, was accorded a grand official welcome upon their return to the Maldives. The team was received at Velana International Airport by the Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation, Abdulla Rafiu, alongside the President of the Football Association of Maldives (FAM), Ahmed Thariq.
To commemorate this historic achievement, a special celebratory event is scheduled to take place tonight at 9:30 PM at the Artificial Beach. The festivities will include a spectacular fireworks display and traditional Boduberu performances. Additionally, members of the public will have the opportunity to take photographs with the players and the championship trophy.
The Sports Minister has extended an open invitation to the public, encouraging everyone to join the celebration in a display of national solidarity and pride.
