
The government has distributed canned fish cases as Ramadan gifts to more than 100,000 than 100,000 households across the country this time. Minister of Cities Administration and General Works, Adam Shareef Umar, said in a post on X that by last night, 49,416 households in Male’ and 60,711 households in the islands, totaling 110,127 Ramadan gifts, have been distributed in the Ramadan gift distribution effort. The distribution of canned fish cases in the Male’ area is being carried out under that ministry. It should be noted that island councils are visiting households to distribute canned fish cases.
While the work of distributing canned fish cases to homes this Ramadan is ongoing, last year’s Ramadan, the government gave 1.6 million kilograms of staple foods free to 82,000 households. Each house was given 10 kilograms of flour and 10 kilograms of rice. Additionally, a discount of 142 million rufiyaa was given on electricity and water bills.
