“Enhancing the Maldives’ engagement and relations within the international arena is a key policy of the government,” stated the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the SIDS Global Business Network Forum and the Island Investment Forum, the Minister highlighted that the Maldives continues to play a leading role in advocating for the rights of Small Island Developing States (SIDS) on issues such as climate change and sea-level rise. Emphasizing that small nations should be viewed as opportunities for investment rather than burdens, the Minister noted that such forums are vital platforms for attracting investors in areas such as economic digitalization and sustainable energy.
