MIFCO and Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM) have today signed an agreement to facilitate the provision of fuel on credit to fishing vessels that sell their catch to MIFCO. Established under the direction of the President, this arrangement ensures that fuel on credit will be available starting today at Felivaru, Kooddoo, and Addu Fisheries Complexes. Under this scheme, the cost of the fuel will be deducted from the payments received for the fish sold. This initiative addresses a significant concern for the fishing community and is expected to provide substantial relief to fishermen by easing the financial burdens associated with fuel procurement.
