Maziya Sports and Recreation has entered the current season with a strategic focus on nurturing the future of Maldivian football, fielding a dynamic squad with an average age of just 23. This initiative is a core part of the club’s long-standing strategy, established in 2013, to provide young athletes with a platform to excel and to develop top-tier talent for the national team.
Even without relying on high-profile veteran names or foreign signings, this youthful roster has already proven its caliber by clinching the Charity Shield and securing a place in the Cup Winners’ Cup final. Under the expert guidance of their new head coach, Thomas Trucha, Maziya is now preparing for their next major challenge: the AFC Challenge League qualification match.
