To cater to the increased demand for domestic travel during the upcoming school holidays, Maldivian, the national airline, has announced plans to operate over 2,000 flights. This represents a 17 percent increase compared to the standard flight schedule, with the airline expecting to transport more than 100,000 passengers during this period. In addition to the regular scheduled flights, over 325 extra flights have been introduced to accommodate the surge in demand, all of which are currently open for booking. During the recently concluded Eid holidays, Maldivian successfully operated over 1,200 flights, serving more than 65,000 passengers.
