The Football Association of Maldives (FAM) has decided to reappoint Hungary’s István Urbányi as the Head Coach and Technical Director of the Maldives national football team. This marks Urbányi’s third tenure in this prestigious role. His previous leadership saw the Maldives secure a silver medal in the 2009 SAFF Championship and achieve victory in an Under-23 international tournament in 2012.
A holder of the UEFA Pro License, the 58-year-old veteran brings extensive experience from his coaching career in Hungary and the United States. Urbányi is highly regarded for his commitment to modern football philosophies and his expertise in developing young talent.
