
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has inaugurated the newly established Bank of Maldives (BML) ATM service in Baa Funadhoo. The ATM service in Funadhoo was officially launched by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. This marks the 43rd island to receive ATM services this year under the project to establish ATM services on all inhabited islands in the Maldives. Providing ATM services to all inhabited islands in the Maldives is a pledge of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. In line with the President’s promise, BML is working on establishing ATM services in 100 new islands within this year.
During his trip to Baa Atoll, after inaugurating the ATM service in Funadhoo, the President withdrew money from the ATM. Following the launch of the service, a commemorative bank card was presented to the Island Council. The card was received on behalf of Funadhoo by the Council President. BML states that the self-service ATM established in Funadhoo will provide 24-hour cash withdrawal and deposit services for individuals and businesses, in addition to bill payment and transfer services. Furthermore, the bank says that credit card and loan payment services will also be available through this ATM.
Under the project jointly carried out by the government and BML to establish ATM services on all inhabited islands in the Maldives, ATM services have been launched on all inhabited islands in 6 atolls so far. These include Ha. Atoll, Sh. Atoll, Dh. Atoll, N. Atoll, M. Atoll, and K. Atoll. Additionally, with the ATM established in Fehendhoo, BML says there will be more than 250 ATMs in the BML banking network covering the entire Maldives.
BML states that the government and BML have jointly initiated this project to establish ATM services on islands with special emphasis to provide various banking services to the public as conveniently and easily as possible.
