The construction of the police station in Goidhoo, South Maalhosmadulu Atoll, has officially commenced. The groundbreaking ceremony for the Goidhoo Police Station took place during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s ongoing tour of the islands in Baa Atoll. The President participated in the official ceremony marking the start of construction.
The construction was officially inaugurated by the Minister of Home Affairs and Culture, Ali Ihusaan, Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen, Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation Mohamed Najah, and the President of Goidhoo Council, Mohamed Shiyan.
The development of the police station in Goidhoo is a project entrusted to Fenaka Corporation. This initiative is part of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s policy to expand police services to all inhabited islands in the Maldives. The government aims to establish police stations and Maldives Police Service presence on every island within the next two years. Accordingly, work has already begun this year to establish stations in many islands that currently lack police presence.
The government believes that establishing police services on every island will greatly contribute to their ongoing efforts to build a peaceful society.
