According to statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism, a total of 3,789 new tourist beds have been introduced into the tourism sector from January of this year up to the current month. Presently, services are being provided by 1,319 establishments with a cumulative capacity of 67,037 beds. These establishments comprise 178 resorts, 958 guesthouses, 167 liveaboards (safaris), and 16 hotels. As of the 15th of this month, the Maldives has welcomed 2,120,759 tourists, marking a 10 percent increase compared to the corresponding period last year. The government aims to attract 2.3 million tourists to the Maldives by the end of this year.
